The two meter wide tunnel was found above the main <a title=\"the door or gate where you go into a building\" href=\"#\/\" data-toggle=\"tooltip\">entrance<\/a> of the pyramid.<\/p>\n<p>The discovery was made by a team of the Scan Pyramids project, experts who have been <a title=\"to look at something very closely with a machine to find out what is inside\" href=\"#\/\" data-toggle=\"tooltip\">scanning<\/a> the pyramid with high-tech instruments to study its <a title=\"here: the rooms and corridors that are in the pyramid\" href=\"#\/\" data-toggle=\"tooltip\">internal structure<\/a>. However, at the moment, they do not know what function the tunnel had.<\/p>\n<p>Since the project began in 2015, several unknown <a title=\"old room\" href=\"#\/\" data-toggle=\"tooltip\">chambers<\/a> and spaces have been <a title=\"find where something is\" href=\"#\/\" data-toggle=\"tooltip\">located<\/a> inside the pyramid. <a title=\"a person who is trained in science and works in a lab\" href=\"#\/\" data-toggle=\"tooltip\">Scientists<\/a> hope to find more unknown rooms and <a title=\"passage or corridor that leads to other rooms\" href=\"#\/\" data-toggle=\"tooltip\">hallways<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The Great Pyramid was built 4,500 years ago.
