They found out what <a href=\"#\/\" data-toggle=\"tooltip\" title=\"here: material that they used\">ingredients<\/a> they used and how they <a href=\"#\/\" data-toggle=\"tooltip\" title=\"made them work\">applied<\/a> them on different body parts.<\/p>\n\n<p>An <a href=\"#\/\" data-toggle=\"tooltip\" title=\"place where  archaeologists dig carefully to find old objects or bones\">excavation site<\/a> discovered in 2016 has <a href=\"#\/\" data-toggle=\"tooltip\" title=\"to find something that we have not known about before\">revealed<\/a>  old <a href=\"#\/\" data-toggle=\"tooltip\" title=\"container used for cooking\">pots<\/a> from an <a href=\"#\/\" data-toggle=\"tooltip\" title=\"room in which a dead person is treated with chemicals so that the body is conserved\">embalming room<\/a> that <a href=\"#\/\" data-toggle=\"tooltip\" title=\"goes back to ; is from\">dates back<\/a> to about 600 B.C. The pots had <a href=\"#\/\" data-toggle=\"tooltip\" title=\"sign with information\">labels<\/a> with the names of <a href=\"#\/\" data-toggle=\"tooltip\" title=\"material\">substances<\/a> in them and even had instructions on how to use them. <\/p>\n\n<p>Ancient Egyptians used a <a href=\"#\/\" data-toggle=\"tooltip\" title=\"a lot of\">wide range of<\/a> materials to embalm their dead, <a href=\"#\/\" data-toggle=\"tooltip\" title=\"also\">including<\/a> plant oils, animal fat, <a href=\"#\/\" data-toggle=\"tooltip\" title=\"sticky material produced by bees\">beeswax<\/a>, and <a href=\"#\/\" data-toggle=\"tooltip\" title=\"thick, sticky liquid that comes out of trees\">resins<\/a> . While some substances came from the <a href=\"#\/\" data-toggle=\"tooltip\" title=\"area between Europe and Africa\">Mediterranean<\/a> region, <a href=\"#\/\" data-toggle=\"tooltip\" title=\"a person who is trained in science, does experiments and works in a lab\">scientists<\/a> discovered that there were other materials from trees in Asia and Africa.   <\/p>\n\n<p>Egyptian embalmers understood a lot about <a href=\"#\/\" data-toggle=\"tooltip\" title=\"to save or protect something so that it is not destroyed or harmed\">preserving<\/a> the dead body, <a href=\"#\/\" data-toggle=\"tooltip\" title=\"above all\">especially<\/a> about how to get rid of bad smells .
